A Day at the Zoo - April 2009

We decided to show Grandma and Grandpa what the Richmond Metro Zoo looks like and all the animals. The first things to see were the birds. These are one of Allison's favorite, the flamingos. The prairie dog came out of the ground to have his picture taken.Just hanging around.
Is this a boxing ring or the zoo? What are these big and hairy things?Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil :)This is my tree. Go get your own. This is what it looked like the chimps were doing. The chimp at the top was looking down at the others. The one climbing up wasn't going to take it any more. There was a lot of screeching back and forth. There were a bunch of chimps on the ground watching, too.He is such a pretty kitty. He came so close to the window. If it wasn't there, we could have reached out to pet him.Giraffes are one of Natalie's favorite animals. We decided to feed them, boy, were they hungry.Allison decided to be brave and give it a try, but Natalie was to scared. Too much drool and what long purple tongues. We saw peacocks all over the zoo, but this one showed us his beautiful tail feathers. Maybe he was showing off to the penguins. I have plenty more pictures, but just too many to show. The day was a little cool, but it was fun.
