Richmond Zoo School Field Trip - May 2009

Allison's school went to the Richmond Metro Zoo for a field trip. I went as a chaperone. It was lots of fun. There were many, many schools there, too. At the beginning, a presentation was put on by a couple of zookeepers. They talked about birds, reptiles and mammals and brought out some examples.

The orangutan was only 2 months old. He was not on display yet, so it was a treat to see him.

As a family, we went to the zoo in April, but this time we saw many more babies. Ducklings, prairie dogs, zebras, giraffes, and apes.

It was fun, but it was extremely hot and we had very little time to go through the zoo.
