Allison's birthday landed in the middle of the week. She tells me her day went like this.
When she arrived at school everything went as normal until the class had rug time. Part of this time is spent learning letters, reading books, talking about the weather and calendar stuff. Her teacher told everyone it was Allison's birthday. They all sang happy birthday to her and a couple of the other girls in her class sang it to her again. At lunch time, Natalie and I arrived with mini cupcakes. The kids were all excited. They thanked Allison for the cupcakes. She chose red velvet cake with vanilla frosting. 
Later, after dinner we had more cupcakes and opened presents.
After dinner, it was time to go to AWANA's. Near the end, the leader asked if anyone had a birthday that week. Allison raised her hand and they made her go up to the front and everyone sang happy birthday.
She said she had a fun day, but wanted everyone to stop singing to her.
